The messages you may meet when working with packages, releases, environments, jobs, alerts and flags, with the fix for each.
Messages and fixes
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 'The platform console is for the workspace owner and people given a platform role.' | You have no platform role. | Ask the workspace owner to grant you one under Platform roles. |
| 'This needs the platform role 'Release manager'.' (or another role) | The step needs a role you do not hold. | Ask for the named role, or ask someone who holds it. |
| 'Only the workspace owner can grant platform roles.' | Only owners grant roles. | Ask the owner. |
| 'Somebody other than the person who prepared this release must approve it.' (also: ...this package version..., ...this extension..., ...this environment..., ...this flag value...) | Nobody approves their own work, administrators included. | Ask a different independent approver. |
| 'Somebody changed this record since you opened it. Reload and try again.' | Someone saved the record first. | Reload the record and repeat your step. |
| 'Licence review is pending; it must be approved first.' | A package cannot be reviewed before its licence review. | An approver completes Licence review. |
| 'Name the support owner or maintainer.' | The package has neither. | Edit the draft and enter a support owner. |
| 'Dependency cycle: A -> B -> A.' | Packages depend on each other in a loop. | Remove one dependency in a new draft version. |
| 'X_DEMO 1.0.0 needs core 2; this build is core 1.0.0.' | The package's core range does not include this build. | Correct the core range or use a build of that core. |
| 'A reviewed or certified version cannot change. Register a new version.' | Only drafts are editable. | Register a new version. |
| 'Release REL-0001 still runs this version.' | You tried to retire a package version that an approved or active release uses. | Retire or replace the release first. |
| 'Write the rollback plan: forward fix or restore, and how.' | A release cannot be submitted without its rollback plan. | Fill the Rollback plan. |
| 'Package artifacts match their recorded digest: X 1.0.0: the files no longer match the reviewed digest.' | The package has drifted. | Register a new version, or restore the original files. |
| 'Upgrade rehearsal passed on a copy: No passed upgrade rehearsal for this release in the last 30 days.' | Staging needs a passed rehearsal. | Run Rehearse the upgrade on a restored copy, then Run the scheduler now. |
| 'A draft package cannot be certifyed.' (similar: 'stageed', 'approveed', 'activateed', 'deployd') | The step is not allowed in the record's present state. The spelling is a known error in the message. | Take the earlier steps first. |
| 'You have already approved this release.' | The policy needs more than one approver. | Ask a different approver to give the next approval. |
| 'A verified backup inside the RPO: The newest verified backup is 1500 min old; the RPO is 1440 min.' | The newest backup is older than the environment allows. | Take and verify a new backup. |
| 'Outside the maintenance window (Friday 23:00, 120 min, Asia/Dubai).' | Activation is only allowed inside the window. | Wait for the window, or change the environment through review. |
| 'Live schema is at <live>; the release expects <head>. Deploy and migrate first.' | The database is not at the release's migration head. | Deploy and migrate on the server, then activate. |
| 'The approved manifest no longer matches its signature. It was changed after approval; reject the release and approve it again.' | The signed manifest was altered. | Send the release back and approve it again. |
| 'Send the environment back to review before changing it.' | An approved environment cannot be edited. | Press Back to review, edit, then approve again. |
| 'A secret is referenced as env:NAME, vault:path or file:path - never written here.' | A secret value was typed. | Enter a reference, not the secret. |
| 'A draft job cannot be enabled.' | A job must be tested first. | Press Run now on the draft; when it succeeds, enable it. |
| 'The run does not name a drill.' | The restore drill job was run by hand from the Jobs screen. | Start drills from Restore drills. |
| 'Could not create the scratch database for the drill (...). The database role needs CREATEDB.' | The database user may not create a scratch copy. | Ask your database administrator to allow it. |
| 'That is a protected control (authorization, periods, posting, audit, approvals or tenancy). It cannot be governed by a feature flag.' | The flag key starts with a protected word. | Choose a different key. |
| 'This is a staging copy: outgoing ... is switched off (set A2N_STAGING_OUTBOUND=1 to allow it).' | A staging server does not send email or webhooks. | Use a real server, or set the variable deliberately. |
