Reading the main reports

  • Sales analysis takes posted invoice lines less credit-note lines, untaxed, in AED. It does not include drafts or unposted documents.
  • Open orders shows each line with Ordered, Delivered, Invoiced, To deliver and To invoice. These match the order's Delivery & invoicing tab. Use it to chase what is left on open orders.
  • Delivery performance shows Promised, Delivered, Days late, On time, In full and OTIF per order. Orders with no promised date have nothing to compare.
  • Returns and credits shows Returned, Credited and the Difference. A difference means goods came back that have not been credited, or the reverse.
  • Quotation conversion shows each quotation's first-sent date, outcome and total, so you can see how many sent offers became orders.

Gross margin and who may see it

Cost and margin are sensitive. The Gross margin menu entry shows only to users with sales.margin.reveal. A user with only product.cost.view can still read the data directly, but the menu stays hidden. Anyone else is refused: 'Gross margin needs the right to see sales margins.' The Prices & margin tab hides cost and margin lines in the same way.

Example: a line with untaxed revenue AED 270.00 and a cost of AED 180.00 has a margin of AED 90.00, which is 33.3% of revenue.

What happens next

Reports read data on request; they change nothing.

Good to know

  • The dashboard (Sales > Dashboard) currently shows sample figures marked as such. It does not yet reflect your orders; use the reports above for real numbers.
  • If you tick several companies in the header, the report covers only companies you are a member of.
  • A date typed in another format is refused: 'Send the date as YYYY-MM-DD.'
  • A customer's credit limit is shown only to users with the credit-limit permission, both on customers and in the quotation sidebar.
