Plan a campaign and its structure

Create a campaign, then add ad campaigns, ad sets and creatives beneath it.

Required permission: marketing.campaign.view, marketing.campaign.edit

Before you begin

You need marketing.campaign.edit. Have the objective, channels, dates and budget ready. Ad accounts are optional but useful; see Ad accounts and delivery.

Steps: create the campaign

  1. Open Marketing > Campaigns > Campaigns and press New.
  2. Enter the Campaign name, for example Ramadan Offers 2026.
  3. Choose the Objective: Awareness, Traffic, Engagement, Lead generation, Sales / conversions, App installs or Retention / loyalty.
  4. Choose the Channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube / Google, X / Twitter, WhatsApp, Email, Website, Other).
  5. Enter Start and End. The end cannot be before the start: 'The end cannot be before the start.'
  6. Enter the Budget, the Currency (blank means AED), the Owner and the Branch.
  7. Choose the Status: Draft, Planned, Active, Paused, Completed or Cancelled.
  8. Enter the utm_campaign tag, or leave it blank. If blank, the system builds it from the name (ramadan_offers_2026). Leads are matched to the campaign by this tag.
  9. Enter Target leads, Target revenue and a Description, then press Save.

The campaign gets the next code, for example CMP-0001. Name, Objective and Status are required: 'Campaign is required.' 'Objective is required.' 'Status is required.'

Steps: add the structure

Add these in any order after the campaign exists:

  1. Ad Campaigns (Marketing > Campaigns > Ad Campaigns): press New. Enter the name, the marketing campaign, the ad account, the platform and the objective. Tick Lead campaign if it carries a lead form and enter the Lead form name. Add the Daily budget, Lifetime budget, dates and status.
  2. Ad Sets: press New. Choose the ad campaign (required) and optionally an audience. Enter the budget, the targeting description and the status.
  3. Creatives: press New. Enter the name, campaign, ad set, Format (Image, Video, Carousel, Story, Reel, Text, Lead form, Message / click-to-WhatsApp), headline, primary text, call to action, media URL, landing page and utm_content.

Lead Campaigns lists only the ad campaigns that have Lead campaign ticked. Form submissions from them arrive in Omnichannel > Leads > Lead Inbox.

What happens next

Open a campaign from the list to see its record: key figures (spend, impressions, leads, opportunities, orders, revenue, gross profit, collected), and the tabs Social-to-cash, Structure, Leads and Delivery. The Structure tab shows the tree from campaign to creatives; a creative with no ad set is shown separately as a loose creative.

Good to know

  • Search the list by any column. Export gives a CSV of the rows shown.
  • Statuses can be set to any value at any time; there is no enforced lifecycle.
  • The campaign record page is for reading. It has no Edit button yet, so check name, dates, budget and status before you save. Ad campaigns, ad sets and creatives open an edit form when you click a row.
  • Delete is refused for a campaign that has run or has leads: 'A campaign that has run or has leads is cancelled or completed, not deleted.' Set the status to Cancelled or Completed instead.
  • Negative budgets are not refused. Check amounts before saving.
  • Give each campaign its own UTM tag. Two similar names can produce the same tag, and then leads cannot tell them apart.
