Configure Marketing settings and features
Set the attribution model, consent rules and audience defaults, switch features on or off and decide which campaign fields are used.
Required permission: marketing.configure for settings; company administrator for features and fields
Before you begin
Everyone with marketing.view can read Marketing Settings. Saving, and the manual scan, need marketing.configure. Features and fields are set by a company administrator.
Steps: Marketing Settings
- Open Marketing > Configuration > Marketing Settings.
- Under Attribution, choose the Model: First touch, Last touch (the default) or Linear (split evenly). Enter the Attribution window (days): 0 to 3650, default 180. A window of 0 uses 180. Choose the Reporting currency; empty means AED.
- Under Consent, enter Consent expires after (months): 0 to 3650, default 24, where 0 means never. The change applies to opt-ins recorded afterwards. Leave Treat unknown consent as allowed off unless your legal advisor agrees. Double opt-in is stored only; it has no effect yet.
- Under Audiences, enter Inactive after (days), default 90 (0 turns the daily "Customer inactive" trigger off), and High value from, default AED 50,000.
- Under Send conversions to, tick platforms. See Track conversions.
- Press Save.
Wrong values are refused with 'Between 0 and 3650.', 'Give a whole number.' or 'Give an amount.'
Press Scan ERP events now to record new ERP events and move waiting journeys without waiting for the next background scan.
Steps: features and fields
- Open Administration > Applications > Marketing > Features.
- Choose whether Automation and journeys and Attribution, conversions and ROI are on. Campaigns, audiences and Consent are always on.
- Open Fields and, for Campaign description, Campaign end date, UTM campaign tag and Target leads, choose Shown, Hidden or Required.
- Save.
What happens next
- A hidden field disappears from the new campaign form, and a value sent for a new campaign is refused. A field that already holds a value stays visible.
- A required field blocks saving: you see a message on the field.
- With Automation off, the Automation menu group disappears. Saving a rule or journey is refused: 'Automation and journeys is disabled for this company.' Existing rules stay readable.
- With Attribution off, the manual scan is refused: 'Attribution, conversions and ROI is disabled for this company.' The analytics screens still open.
Roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Marketing manager | Everything in Marketing, including settings and ad accounts. |
| Omnichannel agent | Read consent, but not record it. |
| Omnichannel supervisor | Read rules, but not change them. |
| A user with marketing.view only | See the Dashboard and Settings. Every other screen is refused. |
Good to know
- The menu shows only the screens a person's permissions allow.
- The settings page shows Save to people who cannot save; the system then refuses.
- Uninstalling Marketing refuses all Marketing screens and shows a Not installed card in the Omnichannel menu. Data returns on reinstall.
- Every settings change is recorded in the audit log with the person's name.
